Job description

Our client is a rapidly expanding organisation operating across multiple technical and operational environments, delivering large-scale projects and digital solutions. As part of their continued growth, they are strengthening their internal technology function to support a diverse user base, enhance system performance, and ensure the business remains resilient and secure. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Technology Support Specialist to play a central role in maintaining and evolving their IT landscape.

This role is based in Monaghan and requires 5 days p/w on site.

Position Summary

This position is suited to a highly capable IT professional who can take ownership of complex technical environments, guide junior colleagues, and contribute to ongoing digital transformation. The successful candidate will support a wide range of infrastructure, cloud services, business systems, and security frameworks while working closely with senior stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, administer, and optimise core IT systems across networks, servers, cloud platforms, and end-user technologies.

  • Support the introduction of new platforms, upgrades, and system enhancements, ensuring smooth project execution.

  • Contribute to governance and security practices, including documentation, policy updates, and compliance activities.

  • Assist in building automated workflows and process improvements using modern automation and integration tools.

  • Provide operational support for business applications, including lifecycle activities, testing, configuration, and post-deployment assistance.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively implement improvements to increase resilience, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Work with third-party partners and suppliers to deliver services and maintain high standards of operational support.

  • Participate in business continuity, backup, and recovery planning.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues that require advanced troubleshooting.

  • Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the department.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure technology solutions are aligned with organisational objectives.

About You

  • Experienced IT professional with a background in advanced support, systems administration, or technical lead roles.

  • Strong understanding of core Microsoft technologies, including modern workplace tools and server environments.

  • Experience working with major business platforms such as CRM, job management tools, or workflow systems.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and structured security practices.

  • Ability to work within and contribute to cloud-based environments.

  • Experience with process automation tools such as Power Automate or similar solutions.

  • Understanding of integrating mobile and handheld devices into wider business systems.

  • Experience working in technically diverse or operationally complex industries is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of telephony, unified communications, or VoIP is beneficial.

  • Full driving licence required.
