Senior Structural Engineer


Are you an experienced Structural Engineer? Interested in an opportunity to join the Senior management team of fast growing start-up business in the construction industry?


VANRATH are recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer to assist in the design, analysis and day-to-day management of projects.


Remuneration:
c£55,000 to £60,000 dependant upon skills and experience.


Hybrid working arrangements can be discussed.


Client
Our client is a rapidly growing start-up, with a promising future ahead providing a range of stainless steel products to the construction industry. They specialise in the design, manufacture and supply of masonry support systems.

Currently in a period of significant growth, they have recently acquired a head office facility and now look to expand their staff base to assist with a overflowing list of orders.


Responsibilities

  • Design and Project Management
  • Responsible for design calculations and preparation of drawings as part of a team on various building structures projects on behalf of main contractors;
  • Produce drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for clients;
  • Check drawings / designs for defects and recommend amendments and improvements.
  • Coordinate and manage project team resources in conjunction with the Director and shareholders;
  • Liaise with clients and other consultants in managing projects from inception through to completion within timescale and within budget.
  • Prepare monthly project workload and fee forecasts.
  • Anticipate challenges and project risks and recommend necessary mitigating measures, and where necessary relay to customers.
  • Quality Assessment procedure ISO9001 adhered to
  • Conduct site inspections and liaise with relevant partners, if and when required
  • Be pro-active in the R&D of future products and improvement of our current range
  • Work closely with our Drawing Office Manager to monitor and control project costs
  • Preparation of project sales orders ready to be forwarded for invoicing to accounts
  • Act a mentor for junior engineers, graduates and technicians, if and when required


The Ideal Person

  • BEng in Structural/Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years post graduate experience in Structural Engineering
  • Working knowledge of packages such as AutoCAD, Revit and Solidworks.


Chartership

Chartership is highly desirable and will be a distinct advantage. As a minimum, candidates should be actively pursuing Chartership.
