Senior Storeperson (Public Sector)
VANRATH are excited to be working closely to support with the role of a Senior Storeperson for a well established client within the local authority. This is initially a 3 month assignment, with possible extension.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the procurement of stock items undertaken to ensure stock levels are maintained at all times and reflects delivery, demand and other relevant factors, which include responsible for all stock item quotations, specifications, the processing of orders, raising purchase orders electronically and expediting purchase orders through supplier base regarding prices for best value and Quality.
- All goods, especially hazardous goods, are stored, handled and issued in accordance with relevant guidelines, especially with due regard to the Health and Safety regulations. This process involves making arrangements for the controlled disposal of waste chemical containers and hypodermic needles when returned to Central Stores
- Receipt and systematic checking of all goods, materials, and machinery into store against purchase orders, delivery dockets etc for internal and external customers.
- Ensure proper completion of goods inwards documents and submission to Purchasing/lnvoice Department.
- Ensure proper completion of requisitions documents.
- Maintain an accurate and effective filing system.
- Ensure proper transfer and up-date of stock movements are continually updated onto the agreed computerised system with the relevant backups.
- Ensure proper control and issuing of fuel including:
a)Control and security of pump keys.
b)Control and security of vehicle keys.
c)Update of all necessary records.
d)Complete regular checks on the equipment etc.
e)Fuel stock level checks and updating fuel quantity on records. - Control the issue and monitoring of machinery and tools held in the stores including reporting of breakages, losses etc.
Ideal Candidate
Have a minimum of one years' experience working in a warehouse/store to include:-
- Stock control and inventory management
- Working with a range of stakeholders including internal customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques.
- Have a good knowledge of Health and Safety relevant to the post
Desirable
- Forklift Licence
Remuneration
Circa £28,000 plus pension & holiday pay
