My client, a global leader in financial technology and market infrastructure solutions, is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to join an established Agile Technology team based in Belfast. This is a key position within a high-performing engineering function, focused on delivering high-quality trading and data platforms in a fast-paced, global environment.

You will be part of a global technology team delivering innovative, award-winning financial platforms that support trading, liquidity, and data solutions across international markets. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will act as a quality advocate within an Agile team, driving Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD) practices. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Developers to ensure high-quality software is delivered at the end of each Sprint in line with the Definition of Done.
You will design and implement automated testing strategies, with a strong focus on API-level automation and shift-left methodologies. You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines, mentor team members, and ensure quality standards are embedded throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle.
The Person
* Degree or 7+ years' equivalent industry experience (finance/trading background advantageous)
* Strong experience with test management and issue tracking tools (JIRA, Zephyr)
* Experience with UI automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestComplete)
* Proficiency in Java, JavaScript or similar programming/scripting languages
* Experience designing and maintaining automated end-to-end testing frameworks
* Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity)
* Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber) and performance testing tools (JMeter)
* Experience in non-functional testing (performance, load, stress, security)
* Knowledge of FIX API automation and trade lifecycle processes
* Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments
* Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across global teams
* Excellent problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail
* Experience reporting on testing strategy and progress to stakeholders
Desirable:
* Background in financial markets and trading platforms
* Knowledge of equity products
* ISTQB or Agile testing certification
* Knowledge of AWS services
* Experience with microservices and serverless architecture
