Senior Product Owner

Job Description

My client, a globally recognised financial services firm, is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Product Owner to join their growing Belfast-based operations team. This is a strategic position within the firm's technology function, with a focus on developing and optimising internal platforms that support the end-to-end client lifecycle, from onboarding and due diligence through to risk and compliance workflows.

This individual will take ownership of product planning, stakeholder engagement, change governance and ongoing development efforts across the technology suite. Working closely with engineering, data, and business stakeholders, the successful candidate will shape future enhancements to ensure alignment with both operational goals and wider business strategy.

The role is ideally suited to someone with strong product leadership experience, particularly in technology platforms supporting client onboarding, regulatory compliance, or operational risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the strategic vision and development roadmap for CLM technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Act as the primary contact for key stakeholders across the business, translating user feedback and operational challenges into clear product enhancements.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle - from concept to release - ensuring delivery is timely, on-budget, and prioritised appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively across technical and operational teams to define, design, and deliver scalable and user-centred product solutions.
  • Oversee the day-to-day health of the platform, managing live service issues and identifying recurring challenges for longer-term resolution.
  • Lead change management efforts and contribute to firmwide governance processes related to budgeting, reporting, and project oversight.
  • Own product-level risk management activities, from incident resolution to mitigation planning.
  • Ensure Agile practices are effectively embedded across the product delivery lifecycle, including sprint planning and stakeholder engagement.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience leading product development within IT, operations, or technology-enabled service environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering solutions through structured Agile frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business priorities.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capability, particularly in operational or systems-heavy environments.
  • Confident managing competing demands and aligning stakeholders across regions and functions.
  • Comfortable operating in high-pace environments, with the ability to remain delivery-focused under pressure.
  • Proficient in managing product governance, risk, and change protocols.
  • Ability to quickly gain a deep understanding of complex workflows, platforms, and regulatory processes (such as those within client onboarding or compliance).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence across a diverse set of internal teams.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience within financial services or capital markets environments
  • Knowledge of client lifecycle management processes and/or associated risk frameworks
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as SAFe
  • Confident presenting to stakeholders at various levels across technical and business domains

What's on Offer:

  • A leadership-level role within a business investing heavily in its Belfast operation
  • Competitive base salary up to £83,000, with a strong wider benefits package
  • Opportunity to shape the future of a core enterprise platform used across global business units
  • Hybrid working model with 3 days per week in their modern office
  • A collaborative culture with genuine long-term progression opportunities
