Due to an increase in workload, a well-known Public Sector organisation based in Belfast are currently recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer to join them on an initial 6-month contract.
Working as part of a larger Payroll team and reporting to the Finance Shared Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising the day-to-day operation of the team and ensure all transactions are processed efficiently.
This is an urgent appointment for the organisation and will offer the opportunity for an immediate interview.
- 3+ year's experience working within a Payroll environment
- Possess a CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate or equivalent.
- Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office (Excel).
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management skills.
What you'll do
As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will:
- Processing payroll accurately and on time, while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintaining employee records, including timesheets, attendance, and leave balances.
- Calculating and recording payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
- Verifying and reconciling payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Generating and distributing pay statements and reports to employees.
- Responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
- Assisting in the preparation of payroll tax filings and other compliance requirements.
- Collaborating with the HR team to ensure proper documentation and compliance with policies.
