About your next employer

Due to an increase in workload, a well-known Public Sector organisation based in Belfast are currently recruiting for a Senior Payroll Officer to join them on an initial 6-month contract.

Working as part of a larger Payroll team and reporting to the Finance Shared Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising the day-to-day operation of the team and ensure all transactions are processed efficiently.

This is an urgent appointment for the organisation and will offer the opportunity for an immediate interview.

About you

  • 3+ year's experience working within a Payroll environment
  • Possess a CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate or equivalent.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office (Excel).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong time management skills.

What you'll do

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will:

  • Processing payroll accurately and on time, while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining employee records, including timesheets, attendance, and leave balances.
  • Calculating and recording payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
  • Verifying and reconciling payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generating and distributing pay statements and reports to employees.
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
  • Assisting in the preparation of payroll tax filings and other compliance requirements.
  • Collaborating with the HR team to ensure proper documentation and compliance with policies.
