VANRATH is delighted to have partnered with a leading IT Managed Services Provider to recruit Senior Network Operations Centre Manager (SNOC Manager) to join their growing team.

The Ideal Person

  • 3rd Level qualification in IT or Computing
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of Local and Wide Area Networks to include (but not is limited to) Wireless, Firewalls, Routers, VPN's, Load Balancers
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of various operating systems including but not limited to Windows, Linux etc
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of data centre backup and disaster recovery technologies and methodologies to include disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Experience in managing 3rd parties to deliver services to agreed service levels
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience of stakeholder management
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance
  • Current Driving License.



Responsibilities

  • Overall operational support for the data centre and networks (wired and wireless) used across the managed service that we provide to include the monitoring of the service and the management of the tickets logged
  • Line management of a versatile and talent rich team that includes annual and interim performance reviews, training plans, resource planning etc.
  • To interact with the Client on a range of forums and project groups delivering progress updates and offering innovative solutions to problems as required
  • To ensure that the device, server and workstation estate is patched and secured that includes Anti-Virus and Encryption solutions and that all component versions are updated to remain within manufacturer support and aligned to security vulnerability directives
  • To managed and maintain the backup and archiving solution used within the datacentre and the schools
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and delivery of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for all services provided via the central infrastructure that includes engagement with sub-contractors and 3rd parties
  • To actively participate in a range of projects that update or enhance the services provided within the managed service
  • To be responsible the management and maintenance of the pro-active alerting system used within the managed service, acting accordingly to any notifications received and to engage in performance evaluations or reviews as required
  • To participate in the identification of risks across the managed service and with the mitigation planning and delivery as required
  • To actively participate in the strategic planning and direction of the managed service delivery and to identify and implement Service Improvements
  • To participate in the management, maintenance and implementation of security measures that are identified via the Security Manager and to assist with investigations as required
  • To provide planned and ad-hoc reports on the operational services posture to both internal and client stakeholders, presenting the findings as required and offering improvements where appropriate
