VANRATH are working with an exciting new entrant into the Belfast market and are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented senior Java engineer.. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering solutions as per the roadmap of the products. This involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to work towards achieving a common goal. As a software engineer you will be part of a globally distributed development team and strive towards continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility is the design and development of security master repository including database design/development along with the services
• Work on strategic green field
• Propose improvements related to the development and support activity.
• Troubleshoot production system support issues.
• Software maintenance and upgrade.
• Should be able to liaise with different teams to re-solve/get dependencies on time.

Experience required:

• 7-10 years of experience working in software development.
• Knowledge and experience of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities.
• Strong knowledge of database design and development is essential. Postgresql is a plus.
• Unix shell scripting.
• Messaging (Kafka, JMS, Solace).
• Gitlab source control, CI/CD. DevOps.
• Any experience of working on reference data (securities) is an advantage.
• Any experience of Test-Driven Development or Behaviour Driven Development is an advantage.
• Cloud technologies, deployment, design and any PostgreSQL/Sybase experience is a plus.
