Client
Our client is a leading MEP Contractor specialising in complex MEP engineering projects, across GB, NI & ROI.
They have a great opportunity for a Senior HSEQ Officer to join them on a permanent basis working out of either their Belfast office.
The Ideal Person:
- Develop a strong working relationship with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement, understanding and compliance for all HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Monitor, review, improve and amend the Integrated Management System to ensure continual improvement and compliance.
- Develop further HSEQ initiatives and continual improvements
- Complete compliant management system audits and inspections and manage a programme of corrective/preventative actions for continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards in technical competence and safe working practices.
- Manage the completion of ISO9001 / ISO14001 / ISO45001 internal audits and providing effective solutions to support compliance regarding all external audits.
- Ensure the preparation of the Contract Health and Safety Plans
- Perform site visits to ensure all necessary safety equipment / Documentation is available
- Perform or arrange accident reporting, recording and investigation as required
- Maintain records, inspections and calibration of lifting Appliances PPE, Gas monitoring equipment, Safety Audits and Accidents/Incidents
- Perform assessment of special equipment requirements as required
- Perform or arrange for the assessment of special training requirements
- Support the Implementation, design, and development of risk management processes, including, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessment and Fire Risk Assessment.
- Provide effective internal training and coaching to operational teams in specific subject matters, such as - Contractor Management, Incident Investigation, Risk Assessment and COSHH regulations.
- To ensure that all working methods and procedures are relevant, clearly communicated, adhered to and promote and portray the company in a professional, safe and compliant manner, whilst providing a safe place of work to a motivated and competent workforce focused on delivering high standards of workmanship and quality of service.
Responsibilities:
- 5 plus years' experience in operational management or safety, health, and environment leadership
- NEBOSH general certification
- Excellent solutions, planning and organisational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
