Senior Financial Accountant (Belfast/Hybrid Working)



VANRATH are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant for a leading SME based in the Belfast area. The role has arisen to provide additional resource during a growth period and the contract is for an initial 12 month duration, and ultimately could lead to a permanent role for a successful performer.


The Role:

This is an important role in the finance department, reporting directly to the Finance Director with duties as follows:

  • Submission and preparation of various accounting schedules as required, incl. journal postings and support to the Finance Director on consolidated financial statements.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheets and wider balance sheet accounts process as well as reviewing reconciliations.
  • Improvement of reporting processes and tightening internal controls
  • Review and analysis of contracts ensuring everything is in line with IFRS.
  • Manage ad hoc requests for financial information re audit and year end relevant info.
  • Proactively involve and assisting with project work in relation enhancements of financial accounting function.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent level QBE
  • Third level education in an accountancy or business related field (desirable)
  • Experience of operating within a medium to large organisation
  • Experience of producing management accounts including full profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet reviews
  • Experience of managing Company bank accounts including reconciliation, balance sheet reporting and cash flow
  • Experience of Microsoft products, particularly Excel spread sheets



Remuneration:

c.£45,000
