Senior Financial Accountant (9-12 month Contract)

VANRATH are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant for a target employer based in Antrim. The role will commence on an initial 12-month basis (with possibility of extension) and is due to commence immediately to provide support during a period of growth. There is a strong likelihood of a permanent role beyond the initial contract with this appointment. The role will offer a hybrid/remote-working basis but can also be fully office based.

The Role

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the statutory accounting area of the business but the role will also have a fairly broad scope working closely with the Finance Manager, Finance Director, the wider finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive day-to-day leadership of the Financial Accounting area to ensure that all financial data is processed accurately and within required time frames.
  • Management, oversight and review of month end functions and submissions ensuring a tight close.
  • Preparation of Statutory accounts and returns to regulatory bodies.
  • Liaising with the US and filing various requested reports including working on their finance systems.
  • Ownership of UK and ROI group consolidation and ensure any issues brought to manager's attention on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for Year End account completion and working with external auditors in delivery of annual statutory audit.
  • Completion of Year End tax submissions, review and reconciliations, along with all communications and correspondence with HMRC.
  • Oversight of cash-flow and current payroll process - review and management.
  • Liaising with external auditors and other statutory bodies.
  • Oversight of the flexible benefits and pensions area.

Other Responsibilities

  • One-off project work/ad-hoc, support of continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and staff to ensure Finance and Accounting best practice is implemented across the organisation.
  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place to protect company assets.
  • Support the Finance Manager in the delivery of objectives set for the Finance function.
  • Proactive in seeking opportunities to enhance the finance function and leverage best practice, utilised both internally and externally

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience, ideally having worked to Assistant Manager level before moving to industry
  • Advanced technical knowledge in FRS 102 reporting
  • Must possess excellent organisational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong sense of commitment and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to communicate fluently and concisely across a range of different cultures
  • Excellent Excel skills.

Remuneration


c£45,000-£50,000
