Client

A leading Charitable organisation is currently recruiting a Senior Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an employer with an excellent reputation in the local market and who provide an essential service to the local community.

The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for the management of the finance, contracts and procurement services. Working in partnership with the outsourced finance partner this role will process payroll, annual budgeting/forecasting, reporting on financial performance and ensuring that contracts and procurement are compliant and fulfil organisation guidelines and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Organise and supervise all the finance activities that facilitates the smooth running of the organisation.
  • Manage and support the finance officer to ensure effective finance systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement new finance systems when needed.
  • Ensure effective finance communication systems throughout the organisation.
  • Work alongside the outsourced finance partner to manage the Finance / Organisation Credit Card and ensure monthly return.
  • Ensure office efficiency by overseeing finance systems, layout, equipment and inventory levels.
  • To manage the organisations Purchase, Project and Nominal Ledger.
  • Ensure monthly financial management accounts are prepared for all services by the agreed deadline.
  • Prepare forecasts of income/expenditure as required and undertake cash flow reviews and advise of any projected shortfall/surplus in cash.
  • Support Managers to prepare annual budgets.
  • To meet on a monthly basis with Managers to review monthly management accounts.

The Ideal Person

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Finance Environment AND
  • A Financial Qualification

OR

  • 4 years' experience in an Finance Environment
  • Knowledge of financial accounting software packages in particular Xero/QuickBooks Online
  • Experience of purchase ledger and sales ledger work
