A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Senior Electrical Testing Engineer to lead a specialist Testing & Inspection team within a rapidly growing engineering organisation.
This hands-on leadership role will see you managing all testing, inspection, and commissioning activities for electrical control panels-both within the manufacturing facility and out on customer sites. As the technical authority for the team, you will uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality, ensuring smooth delivery of all testing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of Testing & Inspection Technicians.
  • Carry out and supervise testing and commissioning of electrical control panels on-site and in-house.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
  • Work directly with clients to resolve technical queries and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Contracts Managers to align testing activities with project schedules.
  • Perform electrical diagnostics and resolve faults quickly and effectively.
  • Oversee NIC/EIC testing and maintain compliance with ISO Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Mentor junior technicians and promote a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting across all testing and inspection work.

About You - Essential Criteria

  • 2395 or equivalent Testing & Inspection qualification.
  • Strong practical experience in electrical testing and inspection-ideally within water, wastewater, or process engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience managing or mentoring technical staff.
  • Excellent electrical fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and database platforms.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience using ACC Docs, BIM360, or similar systems is an advantage.
