Senior Electrical Testing Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Testing Engineer to lead a high-performing Testing & Inspection team within a growing engineering organisation.
In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee all testing, inspection, and commissioning activities for control panels, both in-house and on client sites. Acting as the technical lead for your team, you will ensure all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Testing & Inspection Technicians.
- Oversee and perform testing and commissioning of electrical control panels (in-house and on-site).
- Plan and execute FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) procedures.
- Liaise directly with clients to address technical queries and ensure satisfaction.
- Work closely with Contracts Managers to coordinate testing activities and meet project deadlines.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Oversee NIC/EIC testing and maintain adherence to ISO Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards.
- Mentor and develop junior technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of all testing and inspection activities.
Essential Criteria
- 2395 or equivalent Testing & Inspection Certification.
- Significant hands-on experience in Testing & Inspection, ideally within the water, wastewater, or process engineering sectors.
- Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring technical teams.
- Strong electrical diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and database systems.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience using ACC docs, BIM360, or similar systems would be advantageous.
