Our client, a leading manufacturer of heavy equipment, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in new product development, continuous improvement, and technical innovation across a diverse product range.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop 3-phase electrical control systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and safety legislation.
• Create and maintain accurate electrical schematics, BOMs, and documentation.
• Develop and test PLC and HMI software (Allen Bradley / IFM Systems).
• Support new product development and product improvement projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Provide technical expertise across engineering, operations, and aftersales functions.
• Lead or contribute to equipment installations, testing, and commissioning both in-house and on-site.
• Drive cost reduction, product reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in 3-phase electrical system design and automation.
• Strong knowledge of VFDs, soft starters, and PLC-based control systems.
• Familiarity with EtherNet IP, CANbus, Modbus, or 24Vdc control networks.
• Experience with electrical control panel design (Zuken E3 / ePlan preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work cross-functionally.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Experience in the heavy equipment or manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel as required.
