Senior BI Analyst/Developer (Global Marine Outfitting)

Job Description

A Senior BI Analyst/Developer is being sought by my client, a Newry-based Global Marine Outfitting company that provides marine outfitting and refurbishment services to the luxury cruise and ferry industries. Their expertise lies in the complete renovation of passenger ships, including the design and installation of interiors, fixtures, and fittings. Moreover, they offer project management, procurement, and logistics services to their clients.

Job Role:

The available position requires a candidate to develop and maintain the Business Intelligence infrastructure for the client. The job entails continuously monitoring, using and developing Business Intelligence through the Azure Analytics Stack, gathering business analytics requirements, developing automated solutions, and providing end-user training.

As a BI Analyst/Developer, the candidate will be responsible for defining the overall BI reporting of Dynamics 365, including associated systems and applications. The role involves managing BI reporting for the business, creating end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions, gathering requirements, and developing data visualization and dashboards.

Essential Criteria:

The candidate must have at least two years of experience in a similar Business Intelligence role and hold a degree-level education. They should have strong working experience with Power BI/SSAS/SQL, developing insights and dashboards using visualization tools, understanding best practices in report aesthetics, and following a methodical approach to documentation. Additionally, they must have strong written skills and knowledge of using Azure Data Catalogue.

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, prioritize and organize work under pressure, and have strong technical documentation skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • ERP system implementation or integration experience
  • An understanding of MD365 execution
  • Good working knowledge of Power BI
  • A strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes
The candidate should also have strong SQL coding skills, including the ability to configure stored procedures, experience using Azure Data Factory for ETL processing, and working with Azure SQL Databases.
