VANRATH are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a large, public sector body based in Ballymena. The Senior Accountant role will suit an experienced Accountant who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment. The vacancy has arisen to cover a departing secondment who plays a key role in the central finance team and ideally requires an immediate start to permit a full handover. This role will lead to extension for a good performer, and ideally the appointment could lead to a long-term interim or permanent contract.

About you

• Full membership of one of the five professional accounting institutes within the CCAB, or CIMA.
• A minimum of 1 year post qualifying experience in a management role in a complex organisation
• Experienced in working with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes for a minimum of 2 years
• Available at short notice

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain systems and controls for the accurate recording of all transactions, expenditure, accruals, and prepayments
• Prepare annual accounts summary and commentary for annual reports
• Interpret and analysis of KPI's for managers in accordance with the organisation's requirements
• Assist with the development and management of rolling budgets and forecasts
