The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established, independent insurance group with over four decades of experience in the market. The business has experienced significant growth in recent years through acquisition and organic expansion, doubling in size and strengthening its presence across the commercial insurance sector.

This is a key senior hire within their Commercial Insurance division, supporting continued growth, client retention, and strategic portfolio development. The role offers the opportunity to join a high-performing team within a business that actively invests in professional development and long-term career progression.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to lead and develop a portfolio of commercial clients, delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions while supporting wider team objectives and business growth.

The Role

This opportunity is ideal for a senior commercial insurance professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, providing strategic advice, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. You will take ownership of key client accounts, acting as a trusted advisor while identifying opportunities for account development and growth.

You will work closely with internal broking, claims, and specialist teams to ensure clients receive comprehensive, compliant, and commercially effective insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, retain, and strategically develop an existing portfolio of commercial insurance clients

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple industry sectors

  • Provide tailored advice across a broad range of commercial insurance classes and risk management solutions

  • Lead renewal strategies, mid-term adjustments, and complex client queries with a proactive and solutions-focused approach

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and policy documentation in line with FCA regulations

  • Identify and deliver cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within the client portfolio

  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless and high-quality client experience

  • Support team objectives and contribute to wider business growth and retention strategies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years' commercial insurance experience in a client-facing role, ideally at Senior Account Manager or Account Executive level

  • Strong technical knowledge across commercial or corporate insurance products

  • Proven experience managing and retaining key commercial client accounts

  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced, regulated environment

  • Acturis experience (desirable)

  • Cert CII qualified or working towards (desirable)

  • Full driving licence for client visits
