Sales Manager (NI / Construction)

Job Description

VANRATH is delighted to have partnered with a leading concrete manufacturer to recruit a Sales Manager (for the NI territory as well as Monaghan, Cavan and Louth) to join their talented team. You will be selling into contractors and house-builders with a range of products.


Salary/ Benefits
In order to attract the very best talent on the market a generous remuneration package is on offer for this position of ~£40,000 plus commission. In addition to this, the position comes with a range of fantastic benefits, company car or allowance provided. This role is primarily field based with admin done at home or in office.


The Ideal Person

  • Previous field based sales experience within a construction environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving / exceeding targets within sales
  • You come from a target driven environment with a 'get up and go' attitude, and desire to succeed alongside an acute business acumen


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and KPIs, increasing market share in Northern Ireland.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking new business opportunities.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to clients and prospects, understanding their needs and presenting appropriate solutions.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities etc.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that support sales efforts.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
  • Oversee the order lifespan from initial enquiry to dispatch and payment, ensuring a seamless process.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our products and services.
  • Work closely with the product development team to provide market feedback and contribute to new product ideas and improvements.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with logistics and production teams to ensure timely delivery of products to clients.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance sales skills and knowledge.
  • Uphold a high standard of customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Manage a budget related to sales activities, ensuring cost-effective strategies are implemented.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, assess market trends, and understand customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set sales targets and KPIs, ensuring alignment with company goals.
