Job Title: Sales Manager
Reporting To: Director of Sales
Job Summary
The Sales Manager supports the delivery of the hotel's sales strategy to drive revenue growth across key segments including MICE, corporate groups, and luxury leisure travel. The role focuses on generating new business, managing client relationships, and contributing to overall commercial performance while maintaining high standards of guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve M&E and accommodation revenue targets, contributing to overall budget performance.
- Support the execution of sales strategies to grow market share and drive new business across key segments.
- Develop and manage a structured sales activity plan, including proactive outreach, client meetings, and follow-ups.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities through sales calls, networking, industry events, and client engagement.
- Manage and grow corporate, MICE, and agency accounts, building strong long-term relationships and identifying opportunities for increased revenue.
- Build relationships with key intermediaries including venue-finding agents, travel advisors, and corporate bookers to generate consistent business.
- Respond to all enquiries with timely, accurate, and compelling proposals, ensuring effective follow-up to maximise conversion.
- Conduct site inspections, client presentations, and represent the business at trade shows, sales missions, and networking events.
- Monitor account performance and booking trends, identifying opportunities to grow high-value and need-period business.
- Work collaboratively with Revenue Management to support pricing, availability, and commercial decisions that maximise profitability.
- Liaise with internal departments including Events, Marketing, Operations, and Front Office to ensure seamless service delivery and a high-quality guest experience.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and business pipeline, ensuring all enquiries are tracked appropriately.
- Prepare regular updates on sales activity, performance, and market insights.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments, sharing relevant insights with the wider team.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 3+ years' proven experience in hotel sales, with MICE experience preferred.
- Experience in an Assistant Director of Sales, Senior Sales Manager, or similar role is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor team members, with the potential to take on line management responsibility.
- Strong negotiation, communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Professional, proactive, and highly organised approach to work.
- Willingness and availability to travel internationally as required.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
