Vanrath is working in partnership with a growing specialist supplier operating within the construction and infrastructure sector to appoint a Sales Executive / Sales Coordinator.
This appointment sits at the core of the business's commercial function. It is designed for an experienced individual who is comfortable operating without layers of management and who takes full responsibility for delivering outcomes rather than tasks.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage commercial activity across a defined customer base, ensuring enquiries are converted efficiently, relationships are maintained professionally, and sales activity progresses smoothly from initial discussion through to delivery.
This role combines commercial judgement, customer interaction, and operational awareness. It will suit someone who naturally organises their workload, communicates clearly, and maintains momentum across multiple live opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a central commercial contact for customers, ensuring a consistent and professional experience
Assess customer requirements and translate them into accurate commercial proposals
Manage sales pipelines, tracking opportunities and maintaining momentum through follow-up and negotiation
Oversee order progression, coordinating internally and externally to ensure expectations are met
Maintain structured and accurate commercial records to support forecasting and reporting
Build familiarity with product ranges and supplier capabilities to advise customers effectively
Support revenue growth through proactive engagement rather than reactive order processing
Review and refine internal sales workflows to reduce friction and improve efficiency
Operate independently, managing priorities and deadlines without reliance on close supervision
Candidate Requirements
Essential
2-5 years' experience in a sales, sales coordination, or commercially focused role
Evidence of working autonomously in a low-structure environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Commercial awareness with a practical, problem-solving mindset
High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
Confident using CRM systems and standard business software
Desirable
Background within construction, engineering, plant, or technical supply sectors
Exposure to site equipment, surveying tools, or heavy machinery products
Technical understanding of specialist equipment or engineered solutions
