Research & Information Officer (Band 6)- Public Sector
I am currently accepting applications for experienced Research & Information Officers
As a Research & Information Officer you will assist with a range of research and information activities designed to help provide a strong evidence base. You will be supported by a Band 7 Health Manager. The post will involve liaising with a range of colleagues including, nursing, SPPG, Trusts, BSO, DoH and NISRA.
The role will include:
- working on specific projects
- assisting with research design, fieldwork, data analyses and report writing;
- assisting in the commissioning and management of external research projects;
- conducting in-house research and evaluation;
- providing professional advice and support .
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and development
a. To support a programme of research and evaluation that will facilitate effective operation
b. To assist in commissioning and managing external research and evaluation and to conduct in-house research and evaluation which will involve assisting in or carrying out:
- the design of research and/or evaluation frameworks;
- the preparation of briefs;
- the design of research/survey and qualitative instruments;
- the analysis of large-scale data sets (eg lifestyle surveys);
- qualitative research, including analyses;
- report writing and presentations.
c.To assist in education and training programmes as appropriate.
2. Evaluation and monitoring
To assist with the development and coordination of evaluation studies as defined in the PHA's operational plan.
Eligibility Criteria
- Degree (social science, public health, health or related) with a significant research component, or an equivalent research related qualification
AND - two years' experience as a research assistant/information officer in a health and/or social research environment
OR - Five years' experience of working as a research assistant/information officer in a health and/or social research environment
- Right to Work in UK/Northern Ireland
Salary:
Band 7 £35,500 - £42,600 per annum (+ holiday pay + pension & discount benefits)
Flexi-time, Compressed/elongated hours, Term-time working also offered with this role.
