Receptionist / Cashier (Interim, Part-Time)
Location: Newry
Rate: £14.07 per hour
Hours: 18 hours per week (part-time)
Contract: Interim assignment
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part-time Receptionist / Cashier to join a busy public-facing environment in Newry. This interim post will suit someone who enjoys working with the public, is confident handling cash, and can provide efficient administrative support within a fast-paced setting.
The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a welcoming first point of contact for members of the public, visitors, and callers
- Operate switchboard and manage enquiries, directing calls appropriately
- Handle cash payments, receipts, and associated records in line with procedures
- Maintain computerised and manual booking systems, diaries, and records
- Carry out general administrative duties including filing, typing, photocopying, and data entry
- Support the preparation of reports and administrative documentation
- Monitor reception security systems and maintain a safe, tidy reception area
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers as required
- Assist with promotion and display of up-to-date information and literature
- Provide cover for other reception or clerical staff where required
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a reception, front-of-house, or customer-facing role
- Experience of cash handling and basic financial administration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a busy environment
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
