Client:
Our client is an innovative company based in Belfast that invest in public Electrical Vehicle charging network infrastructure throughout Northern Ireland. They have ambitions to have around 1500 charging stations installed across a vast location of over 300 sites including a number of major ultra-rapid charging hub sites that will see drivers able to fully charge their vehicles in less than 20 minutes.

The company are experts in electric vehicle charging and can assist with every step of sorting an EV charging solution, whether it be for the domestic or commercial market. The company offers EV managed fleet solutions and leasing options.

They also offer a flexible approach to working hours, autonomy so you manage your own workload and a friendly and supportive team to work along with. The company has ambitious plans for growth and is keen to build a team who can grow alongside the business.

Summary of the Role:
The company are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the operations team to support their expansion and growth. The role will involve managing costs and finances for projects related to EV charging infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and project management, and will contribute to the successful competition of EV projects. The QS will work closely with the commercial team to ensure all commercial aspects of the projects are in order and to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting surveys to design and price EV charging solutions
  • Preparing cost estimates for infrastructure projects and managing project budgets
  • Negotiating with clients and suppliers, building relationships, and liaising with clients and contractors
  • Analysing tenders and contract bids
  • Collaborating with suppliers and vendors
  • Generating reports on project costs
  • Conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations
  • Working with cross-functional teams and maintaining accurate records


The Ideal Person:

  • Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field
  • Experience in quantity surveying and cost management in the construction or infrastructure sector
  • Skilled in cost estimation, budget management, and project financial analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate and report on projects
  • Ability to work well in a team environment is essential
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a means of transport to fulfil the duties of the role

Desirable Criteria:

  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices
  • Understanding of the electric vehicle industry or related sustainable technologies is a plus
