Quantity Surveyor

Our client is one of Ireland's leading Electrical & Building contractors with nearly 35 years of valuable experience within numerous sectors, including the Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Construction sectors.

Due to expansion they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The role will be based in their Newry offices and the successful applicant will be required to be on site 1/2 days per week in ROI. All expenses covered.


Remuneration
£35,000 - £45,000+ Benefits DOE


Responsibilities

  • Provision of cost and contract management services in support of construction project planning and delivery.
  • Cost estimations, tender preparations, cost and value management, contract management.
  • Advising project teams on development of project procurement and contracting strategies.
  • Management of the procurement of professional service, supply and works contracts.
  • Checks and audits in aid of providing assurance on compliance with approved cost, value, etc.
  • Responsibility for valuations checks and approvals.



The Ideal Person

  • Degree Qualified.
  • Previous experience dealing commercially with both sub-contractors and clients.
  • Must have strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships and take appropriate professional action when dealing with potential difficulties.
  • Experience of reviewing contracts is desirable.
  • Ability to successfully meet monthly debt targets.
  • IT Literate.
  • Must be a highly motivated individual.
  • Budgetary & Financial/commercial management Skills.
  • Planning, Prioritising & Organising Skills.
  • Influencing, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self assertion and Personal impact.
  • Decision Making & Problem Solving ability.
  • Maintaining and delivering excellent Customer Service Standards.
