Interim Purchasing Manager (Lisburn | £40,000 - £50,000 | Contract)
VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Lisburn, currently seeking an experienced Interim Purchasing Manager to join their team on a contract basis.
The Role
This is a key interim appointment reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will lead a dedicated purchasing and stores team, ensuring the smooth operation of procurement activities while maintaining compliance with relevant quality standards.
This is a multi-faceted role which requires the Purchasing Manager (Interim) to maintain certification to IATF16949 and ISO 9001.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all purchasing and stores functions across the business.
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.
- Analyse schedules and forecast material requirements.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and manage supplier performance.
- Maintain and monitor the central materials budget.
- Oversee goods-inwards and stores operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through supplier and material alternatives.
- Support improvements to IT systems related to procurement and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Contribute to strategic planning as part of the senior management team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree/Diploma in Business, Economics, or Computing, or Chartered CIPS membership.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and supplier management skills.
- Proven ability to manage procurement operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of quality and environmental management systems.
Remuneration
- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
