VANRATH are recruiting a Project Surveyor to work for a leading Main Contractor that delivers a range of Building & Civil Engineering projects.

Client:
Our client is a leading, progressive Main Contractor that operates across the Construction and Civil Engineering sectors.
The business has a significant pipeline of work ahead; mainly new build projects up to €40m across various sectors including Residential, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, and Retail. Due to continued growth, they have an excellent opportunity for a Project Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. They are seeking a professional with experience managing costs, contracts, and procurement across medium to large-scale new build projects. Most of their work is based in and around Dublin, so this opportunity will suit someone located in or close to the area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and control all commercial and contractual aspects of projects from inception through to final account
* Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations, ensuring financial efficiency throughout each project
* Oversee subcontractor procurement, tendering, and negotiation to ensure best value
* Assess and certify subcontractor payments and variations in accordance with contract terms
* Identify, value, and negotiate change orders and variations with clients and subcontractors
* Prepare and review monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
* Liaise closely with the Project Manager, design team, and client representatives to ensure effective financial and contractual management
* Contribute to the preparation of project progress reports and KPI data
* Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and HSEQ requirements
* Support the project team in identifying risk and opportunity, proposing mitigation strategies where necessary
* Participate in post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement across the business
The Ideal Person:
* Previous experience as a Project Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor within the new build construction sector
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage project finances from start to finish
* Experience working across a range of sectors, including Residential, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, or Retail
* Excellent knowledge of construction contracts (JCT / NEC) and procurement practices
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
* Good IT proficiency, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook
* HSEQ awareness with a commitment to maintaining compliance and best practice
* Ability to commute to / work in Dublin on a regular basis
