Project Officer (Public Sector)
Are you looking for a Project Officer (Public Sector) role? Interested in working for a large public body for a period of 6 months+?

VANRATH are recruiting a Project Officer (Public Sector) to assist with the completion of the Full Business Case and preparation of the relevant design specification and delivery up to completion of the designated project .

Remuneration:
c£39,571, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

The Ideal Person

  • Have a minimum of a third level qualification or equivalent in an appropriate construction related discipline e.g. Project Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying

AND

Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 3 years' experience in managing major capital* projects from business case stage through design and delivery to client handover to include:

  • Successful delivery of major commercial/public capital projects with budgets exceeding £1M;
  • Business Case / Economic Appraisal preparation;
  • Successful management of budgets; and

AND

Hold membership of a recognised professional body relevant to the post for example RIBA, RICS, MCIOB or equivalent.

OR, for candidates who do not meet the qualification requirements as outlined above:

Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 5 years' experience in managing major capital* projects from business case stage through design and delivery to client handover to include:

  • Successful delivery of major commercial/public capital projects with budgets exceeding £1M;
  • Business Case / Economic Appraisal preparation;
  • Successful management of budgets; and
  • Experience in dealing with a range of stakeholders


Responsibilities

  • Act as lead project officer within Client responsible for the delivery of the designated BRCD Project as directed
  • Support the development of the Full Business Case/Economic Appraisal for the designated BRCD project, as part of the wider BRCD governance process.
  • Lead on the preparation of all procurement and contract documents for the appointment of various consultants and contractors adhering to both Client and funder procurement procedures
  • Evaluate tender returns in accordance with both Client and funder procurement procedures, ensuring value for money and quality are achieved.
