Are you looking for a Project Manager- Civil Engineering (Public Sector) role? Interested in working for an organisation renowned for delivering Project Management Services and Procurement Expertise on Water & Wastewater, Leisure, Health and Building Projects?

VANRATH are recruiting a Project Manager- Civil Engineering to be responsible for managing a wide range of civil engineering projects, including permanent way (track), structures (bridges, earthworks and sea defences) and environmental (vegetation management) on the railway network and will include complex, multidisciplinary projects in excess of £10million as well as minor works in excess of £5million.

This full-time role is a Fixed Term Contract - End October 2024 (with possibility of extension).

Remuneration:

c£45,000, alongside excellent holiday entitlement.


The Ideal Person

Essential:

  • A minimum of a degree in Civil Engineering or relevant Construction related subject
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience on civil infrastructure projects utilising the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of project management methodologies and documentation
  • Proven experience in managing project budgets and schedules
  • Previous experience in leading project teams and managing internal and external stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Project Management qualification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is desirable
  • Experience of Rail infrastructure projects
  • Chartered engineer status



Responsibilities

  • Defining project requirements, scope and preparing project briefs as well as developing and maintaining the Project Execution Plan
  • Manage the design development process and technical approvals
  • Support the development of the project business case (Economic Appraisal)
  • Develop project budget costs and contingency (risk allowance) and manage through the project life cycle
  • Develop the project schedule, critical path and manage change control
  • Develop the procurement and contracts strategy for all suppliers and contractors and manage the procurement process
