Project Engineer
Limavady, Northern Ireland (occasional UK travel)
£33,000 - £37,000
Full-time | Monday - Friday | Hybrid working after probation
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Limavady. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years' experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
Working on bespoke equipment and control systems within the water and energy sectors, you'll be involved in every stage - from planning and resourcing right through to commissioning and client handover. Occasional travel across the UK will also form part of this varied and rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within cost.
- Source suppliers and purchase equipment in line with engineering specifications.
- Manage and distribute technical drawings and documentation to subcontractors.
- Visit subcontractor sites to oversee production, carry out quality checks, and resolve issues.
- Lead FAT tests, site preparation and commissioning activities, including all health & safety documentation.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates, solutions, and progress reports.
- Support contract management, including compensation events and quotations.
- Provide financial reporting on costs, invoicing, and project budgets.
- Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are upheld across all activities.
About You
Essential
- Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (mechanical or similar).
- 2-3 years' experience in a project engineering role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK, including overnight stays.
Desirable
- Experience within the water or wastewater industry.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts.
- Experience in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
