VANRATH are delighted to be working with a well-established multi-sited SME business in Greater Belfast, who are recruiting a Project Accountant to join their team for an ongoing temporary assignment. This is a project led role which will support multiple tasks, including process & system improvement, reporting capabilities and general ledger maintenance.

The Project Accountant will work closely with the wider finance team and will work under guidance from the Group Financial Controller, taking responsibility for multiple projects. These projects mat include ERP system cleanses, process remapping & implementation, KPI reporting and any additional required by the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business who have recently expanded their operations into Europe, with exciting growth plans.

This role is initially being recruiting for a period of 6 months, however, due to business plans, the successful candidate could earn a permanent contract.

About you

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by Experience
  • Experience working within SMEs or owner-managed businesses
  • Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across different business units
  • Proactive, hands-on approach and available to start at short notice

What you'll do

  • Review and streamline financial processes across the group
  • Support month-end close and deliver accurate project and management reporting
  • Consolidate financial data across several business units
  • Assist in improving budgeting and forecasting models
  • Liaise with internal teams to implement short-term system/process changes
  • Provide clear financial insights to owners and senior leadership
