Client

Our client places itself at the heart of the Northern Ireland community, with a remit that includes the development of the school curriculum, regulating qualifications and conducting examinations and assessment. The Programme Manager position, is a key role within the organisation. The Programme Manager supports the Business Manager in progressing the strategic direction of the business unit, ensuring the delivery of high quality operations through meticulous risk planning, customer service and an ongoing programme of operational modernisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all the organisations examination and assessment operations comply with the Regulatory General Conditions of Recognition (GCOR)
  • Manage key interfaces, relationships and communications with stakeholders
  • Ensure provision of high quality guidance/support material arrangements
  • Meet all operational deadlines
  • Appointment of appropriately qualified, high quality contract staff including: examiners, moderators, assessors invigilators
  • Provide leadership to staff to ensure optimum performance
  • Compile reports and statistics on operational functions and service provision
  • Develop, monitor and review team staffing, budgeting and resources to achieve business efficiencies

Ideal Person:

  • Demonstrate 3 years' experience within the past 5 years at Head-of-Department of managing 2 or more of the following business functions:
  • Operations: Responsible for the overall management of the operations department, for the design, control and quality assurance of production or business operations, in the output of goods or services.
  • Contract management: Responsible for the overall management of contracts with customers, vendors, partners, or employees to include: drafting/negotiating terms and conditions of contract, contract law and compliance, service performance and managing disputes.
  • Customer Service/Complaints: Responsible for the overall management of a customer service/complaints department; managing the service and communication provided to the stakeholder including customer satisfaction, brand loyalty, revenue/growth.
  • Support Services: Responsible for the department whose function does not generate the main business, but are critical to its existence - i.e. Head of Department: Administration, HR, Finance, Logistics, IT, Secretariate.
  • Policy: Responsible for research and development of policies, from initiation through to implementation, to supports the Department's/businesses long-term strategy.

Remuneration:

Salary: £55,081 - £58,939

Annual leave: You would be entitled to 27-33 days annual leave.

Pension: You may be eligible to join/transfer: the Local Government Pension Scheme for NI (NILGOSC) or, if you are joining from a teaching background, DENI Teachers Pension Scheme.
