Manufacturing Supervisor
Overview:
Lead and manage a production team to deliver high-quality products in line with safety, quality, and operational standards. Drive performance, compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with H&S and environmental policies
- Minimise environmental impact; ensure safe handling of materials and equipment
- Maintain clean, contamination-free work areas
Production & Operations
- Oversee day-to-day production to meet output and efficiency targets
- Supervise operators to ensure goals and KPIs are achieved
- Identify and implement improvements in workflow and productivity
- Report production performance; escalate issues impacting product availability
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Validation teams to ensure GMP compliance
- Manage shift operations (including 3-shift and 4-shift rotations)
Quality & Compliance
- Embed a strong quality culture aligned with GMP principles
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production records and documentation
- Investigate quality events and implement effective CAPAs
- Perform internal audits and maintain audit readiness
- Develop, review, and maintain SOPs and production documentation
Team Leadership
- Manage, train, and develop shift personnel
- Build strong cross-functional relationships
- Communicate effectively across all levels and functions
- Support performance reviews, disciplinary processes, and skills development
Continuous Improvement
- Actively engage in CI initiatives (e.g. 6S, visual management)
- Drive cost-effective practices, reduce waste, and maximise yields
- Lead or support root cause investigations and structured problem-solving
Requirements
Essential:
- 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
- 1+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Proven ability to meet targets and manage performance
- Skilled in training and developing staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Flexible to meet business demands
Desirable:
- Experience in regulated or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Familiarity with quality systems and documentation control
- Background in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Experience planning resources to meet production goals
