Based in Ballymena
£50,000 - £55,000 per annum
4 on 4 off shift pattern | Highly automated environment

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Production Shift Manager to join their management team at a modern, highly automated facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader with a background in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing to step into a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

The Role
As Production Shift Manager, you'll take responsibility for overseeing all production operations during your shift. Working in a state-of-the-art, automated environment, you'll ensure efficiency, quality, and safety are maintained at the highest standards while leading and developing your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production activity across your shift, ensuring targets are met.
  • Drive operational efficiency, minimising downtime and waste.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop your team to ensure strong performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Manage resources effectively to optimise plant and equipment performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, CI projects).
  • Communicate effectively across departments and senior management.
  • Support shift handovers and maintain smooth operations.

About You
We are looking for a strong leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Essential Criteria:

  • 3rd level qualification in a relevant field, plus 2+ years in a similar role
  • Proven experience leading and motivating production teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record of delivering against KPIs and driving continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
