Are you a Production Engineer who has experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment? This is a great opportunity to join a company that has been in business for over 100 years with no sign of slowing down.

The main purpose of the role is to analyse and optimise production processes to meet performance targets, providing technical leadership and working with the production and engineering teams to reduce waste, minimise downtime, and maximise efficiency.

The role:

  • Provide technical leadership to the production team.
  • Coordinate fault finding and issue resolution.
  • Use lean techniques to improve yield, quality, throughput, and productivity.
  • Drive efficiency improvements in manufacturing and operational processes.
  • Monitor production output and address any negative trends.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with third-party contractors to solve problems and develop processes.
  • Participate in planning and implementing capital improvement projects.
  • Work with various departments to achieve management goals.
  • Provide support and training to the operations team.
  • Review and improve equipment, process control sequencing, and operating procedures.
  • Train production operators to enhance their process knowledge and technical skills.
  • Ensure effective communication during shift changes.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policies at all times.
  • Perform any other appropriate duties as required.



About you:

  • Strong motivation and ability to meet technical and business targets.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative.
  • Experience in leading teams and challenging operational practices.
  • Excellent fault-finding skills.
  • Academic background in process engineering or a time-served maintenance technician with process control experience.
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or suitable experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician.
  • At least five years' experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in production technical processes and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience with PLCs, variable speed drives, and fault-finding.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with SCADA control systems, pneumatics, and supervisory roles.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing.
