We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Product Engineer to join our client's team in Derry. This role involves developing and maintaining precise product specifications that meet each customer's requirements and align with our clients' manufacturing capabilities. You will be responsible for designing and purchasing job-specific tooling and maintaining accurate records of product specification history.

Duties

  • Act as a safety leader, prioritising safety in all responsibilities and adhering to all corporate and site Environmental, Health, & Safety Policies & Procedures.
  • Evaluate each new product request from customers, utilising knowledge of machine capabilities to determine the most efficient manufacturing route.
  • Review, interpret, and control customer-supplied specifications, developing product specifications and communicating any exceptions to the customer.
  • Translate customer-supplied information into our client's customer-facing specification format using AutoCAD, and secure customer approval.
  • Generate accurate internal product specifications in SAP based on approved customer-facing and customer-supplied specifications, aiding manufacturing personnel.
  • Provide accurate product information to SAP data specialists for generating SAP master data, Bills of Materials, and routings for new and existing products.
  • Design, order, and issue job-specific tooling per manufacturing specifications.
  • Ensure design advancements comply with the Company's Quality Management System.
  • Manage internal and external change requests in accordance with customer requirements and agreements.
  • Collaborate on new business development projects in line with the company sales plan.
  • Apply analytical skills to resolve Product Engineering and manufacturing-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of data.
  • Employ sound engineering practices for design improvement and issue resolution.
  • Participate in customer audits as necessary.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and special projects as required.


About you:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft computer software.
  • 2-4 years of relevant design/development experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of SAP.
