VANRATH are recruiting a Product Design Engineer to contribute innovation to the development of our client's next generation of products.

Remuneration
£34,000 to £36,000 DOE

Our client is an award winning manufacturer and online retailer within the UK. Well renowned for the high standard and quality of their products within their industry, they operate from a state of the art manufacturing facility in Northern Ireland.

As the online retail side of the business continues to grow, demand for their products has never been higher, resulting in a focus on expansion and innovation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products from concept to production ensuring they meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Create detailed 3D models and CAD drawings of products and components using software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD or similar.
  • Develop and test prototypes to evaluate design concepts and make necessary adjustments based on performance and feedback.
  • Select appropriate materials for product components to optimise performance, durability and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with team to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective to produce, providing technical support during the production process.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet all relevant standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, including marketings, sales and production to ensure successful product launches.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including design specifications, test reports and user manuals to accompany each new product.


The Ideal Person:

  • Minimum 2 years Design experience in Manufacturing
  • Third level qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Product Engineering or similar
  • Proficient in Solidworks and AutoCAD
