VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Public Sector procurement professional to join our client's team on a temporary basis with possibilities for extensions and career progression.

This is an immediately available opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in the effective delivery of the procurement service and achieve the key objectives set out in the departmental business plan.

About you

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate the following qualifications in their CV:

• A Third Level Qualification in a relevant subject or commensurate professional experience.

• Hold or be working towards Level 6 Full Membership which gives membership to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate with clear examples:

• At least 3 years relevant public procurement experience working in a complex multi-discipline organisation.
• Experience in the use of an electronic e-sourcing platform.
• Working knowledge of best practice in public procurement.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

The successful candidate must possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full including with reasonable travel time frames.

What you'll do

The Procurement Officer will work collaboratively with other procurement staff within the client organisation, to ensure delivery of the agreed Procurement Policy to achieve the Corporate Plan. You will work as a member of the corporate team providing a comprehensive procurement service to the organisation to include providing support and advice on tendering, quotation and all other aspects of procurement activities to line managers and staff within the client organisation.
