VANRATH are excited to be working alongside a leading Public Sector body in Lisburn who are actively looking to recruit a Procurement Officer on an initial interim basis.

The post-holder will support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in delivering an efficient and effective procurement & contract management service that ensures the organisation has access to procure the goods and services required to support the needs of the communities we serve.

This is a wide and varied role and the post holder will be responsible for supporting the function through provision of advice and guidance as well as transactional processing and quality assurance of procurement and contract management activity.

About you

• Hold a third level qualification (HNC or above) or equivalent and 2 years' demonstrable experience working in a procurement environment within a large complex organisation
• Demonstratable experience planning and delivering high quality work
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge and understanding of public sector procurement legislation

What you'll do

• Support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in providing an efficient and effective procurement and contract management service.
• Provide advice on tendering, quotations, contract management, and procurement legislation.
• Manage relationships with CoPE (Centres of Procurement Expertise) and ensure effective planning and management of tenders.
• Conduct procurement through compliant routes, ensuring value for money.
• Assist in monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for procurement to demonstrate service performance.
• Maintain knowledge of legislation and procurement guidance, extending this knowledge to procurement staff.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, manage records retention, and assist in providing information for audits, Freedom of Information requests, and other external parties.
