Interim Procurement Officer (12 Months)

This established organisation operates multiple large industrial facilities across Northern Ireland and is currently delivering substantial project-based investment. With a complex supplier network and technical stakeholder group, procurement plays a central role in ensuring commercial value and operational delivery.
The Procurement team supports two major sites and works closely with engineering, operations and compliance functions. This role reports to the Procurement Manager and will act as a flexible resource across locations.
About you
- Proven procurement experience within engineering, manufacturing, utilities or heavy industrial environments
- Experience managing the full procurement lifecycle, from tender to contract delivery
- Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation capability
- Confident personality, comfortable challenging and influencing technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in operational, site-based environments
- Willing to balance strategic procurement activity with hands-on administrative responsibilities
Desirable:
- Experience using SAP or e-tendering platforms
- Exposure to cross-border trade or customs processes
What you'll do
- Manage a portfolio of live contracts linked to ongoing technical and capital projects
- Lead supplier negotiations to drive commercial value and mitigate risk
- Support tendering activity for new installations and site upgrades
- Work closely with engineering teams to shape commercially sound outcomes
- Complete procurement administration including customs documentation and technical processing
- Support supplier performance improvement initiatives
