VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Public Sector procurement professional to join our client's team based in Belfast with the possibility for long-term career progression.

This is an immediately available opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in the effective delivery of the procurement service and achieve the key objectives set out in the departmental business plan.

About you

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate one or both of the following qualifications in their CV:

  • Hold or be working toward a Third Level Qualification in a relevant subject.
  • CIPS Level 5 or equivalent.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate with clear examples:

  • At least 2 years relevant experience working within a procurement environment.
  • Experience in the use of an electronic e-sourcing platform.
  • Working knowledge of public procurement legislation, policies and processes.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

What you'll do

The Procurement Officer will work collaboratively with other procurement staff within the client organisation, to ensure delivery of the agreed Procurement Policy to achieve the Corporate Plan. You will work as a member of the corporate team providing a comprehensive procurement service to the organisation to include providing support and advice on tendering, quotation and all other aspects of procurement activities to line managers and staff within the client organisation.
