VANRATH are recruiting for Public Sector procurement professionals to join our client's team on a temporary basis with possibilities for extensions and progression.

This is an immediately available opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in the effective delivery of the procurement service and achieve the key objectives set out in the departmental business plan.

Summary of key responsibilities:

The Procurement Officer will work collaboratively with other procurement staff within the client organisation, to ensure delivery of the agreed Procurement Policy to achieve the Corporate Plan. You will work as a member of the corporate team providing a comprehensive procurement service to the organisation to include providing support and advice on tendering, quotation and all other aspects of procurement activities to line managers and staff within the client organisation.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • A Third Level Qualification in a relevant subject or commensurate professional experience.
  • At least 3 years relevant Public Procurement experience working in a complex multi-discipline organisation.
  • Experience in the use of an electronic e-sourcing platform.
  • Working knowledge of best practice public procurement.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full current driving licence or, if a disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full.

It would be advantageous for applicants to hold or be working towards Level 6 Full Membership which gives membership to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
