Procurement Officer

Our client, a prominent public organisation, is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer to support their procurement functions in Portadown. Salary & Benefits
Competitive public sector salary between £38,220 and £40,778
36-hour standard working week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm)
Initial 6-month interim contract with the potential for extension

About you
Hold a relevant third-level qualification (e.g., Procurement, Business, Finance, or Accounting) or have at least 4 years' procurement experience
Demonstrate proven ability to advise stakeholders on procurement procedures and legislation
Experienced in managing quotations, tenders, and evaluating contracts to secure value for money
Possess a solid understanding of public sector procurement processes and compliance requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and financial management systems
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
What you'll do
Provide expert procurement guidance to internal teams, ensuring adherence to legislation and policies
Manage the entire lifecycle of procurement activities, including quotes, tenders, and contract awards
Support the development and review of procurement plans aligned with organisational budgets
Monitor supplier performance and contribute to post-contract reviews for continuous improvement
Keep accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with organisational governance
Assist with value-for-money initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiencies
Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and procurement bodies, preparing reports for senior management
