Procurement Officer

Our client, a prominent public organisation, is seeking a proactive Procurement Officer to support their procurement functions in Portadown. Salary & Benefits
- Competitive public sector salary between £38,220 and £40,778
- 36-hour standard working week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm)
- Initial 6-month interim contract with the potential for extension

About you
- Hold a relevant third-level qualification (e.g., Procurement, Business, Finance, or Accounting) or have at least 4 years' procurement experience
- Demonstrate proven ability to advise stakeholders on procurement procedures and legislation
- Experienced in managing quotations, tenders, and evaluating contracts to secure value for money
- Possess a solid understanding of public sector procurement processes and compliance requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and financial management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
What you'll do
- Provide expert procurement guidance to internal teams, ensuring adherence to legislation and policies
- Manage the entire lifecycle of procurement activities, including quotes, tenders, and contract awards
- Support the development and review of procurement plans aligned with organisational budgets
- Monitor supplier performance and contribute to post-contract reviews for continuous improvement
- Keep accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with organisational governance
- Assist with value-for-money initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiencies
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and procurement bodies, preparing reports for senior management
