Job description

VANRATH are partnering with a global FinTech company to recruit for a Principal Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on business-critical platforms used by major players in the global market.

As the Principal Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on modern cloud-native platforms using .NET, while shaping the engineering culture of a forward-thinking team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical mentorship to engineers and help align development efforts with project timelines and goals
  • Design, develop, and support scalable software solutions
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Project Managers to refine and translate technical requirements
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK with Python
  • Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines, with a strong emphasis on automated testing and code quality
  • Ensure cloud-based systems are secure, high-performing, and highly available
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and foster a collaborative agile environment
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for architecture, design, and processes

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a Principal .NET Engineering role
  • Strong hands-on expertise in cloud technologies, particularly within AWS
  • Solid understanding of unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile practices
  • Experience with Entity Framework, contract-first API design, and microservices architecture

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with tools like Git, JIRA, and a strong focus on documentation
