Principal Data Engineer

Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Principal Engineer specialised in Analytics Platforms for a key client. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team, where you can make a significant impact while advancing your career.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a third-level degree in an Information Technology or Computer Science related field.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of professional programming experience, including tenure at a software product company.
  • Demonstrate professional experience in at least one of the following areas: data engineering, machine learning engineering, or full-stack engineering.
  • Have practical experience in at least one of the following disciplines: supporting cloud platforms at scale (preferably AWS), working with infrastructure as code, container orchestration environments (preferably Kubernetes), and observability platforms.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of Machine Learning methodologies and popular ML packages such as Scikit-learn, Tensorflow/Keras, or PyTorch.
  • Experience with Python packages for data manipulation such as Pandas and Numpy, and web frameworks such as Django or Flask/Sanic.
  • Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, with experience in a microservice-based architecture; managing Kubernetes-related infrastructure on GKE or EKS is advantageous.
  • Keen awareness of ML-related technologies, staying updated on industry trends, and actively contributing to expanding the tech stack.
