Prefabrication Design Coordinator


Location: Banbridge
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday 8:00am-3:00pm
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's most progressive and dynamic manufacturing and engineering firms. As they continue to grow across the UK, Ireland and Europe, they are seeking a Prefabrication Design Coordinator to support their design, BIM, pre-construction, and operational teams from their modern headquarters in Banbridge.


This is a pivotal role working across major projects in sectors including decarbonisation, data centres, healthcare, education, commercial, residential and aviation. The successful candidate will help ensure accurate, compliant and efficient mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design and integration throughout the prefabrication and delivery phases.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) strategies and set clear delivery goals
  • Oversee BIM model quality for MEP systems, ensuring they meet all project specifications
  • Diligently check technical drawings and collaborate with engineers to ensure consistency
  • Propose innovative design and installation methods to optimise cost, performance, and efficiency
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers to integrate technical data into design models
  • Lead and document risk assessments and implement appropriate solutions
  • Attend regular model coordination meetings and manage clash detection processes
  • Track and document all design changes in real time
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design standards, regulations and product guidelines
  • Act as liaison between design, manufacturing and site installation teams
  • Support junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Prepare and deliver status updates and reports to senior stakeholders

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in MEP installation on commercial-scale projects
  • Strong knowledge of MEP design principles, construction techniques and prefabrication processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks and Microsoft Office
  • A relevant qualification in building services, construction, or project management (desirable)
