Policy Officer - Hybrid

VANRATH are assisting our large Public Sector client in their search for a Policy Officer to join their Belfast based team and help drive change.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong experience across public policy development, advocacy and research/analysis, where you will be responsible for ensuring that the Organisation has a key influence on legislation and public policy.

Job Summary

Reporting to a senior policy officer, you will support the development, implementation, dissemination and evaluation of a wide raging public policy and legislative development agenda, as well as contributing to the delivery of the Organisation's corporate strategies, plans and policies.

The Policy Officer will be required to undertake and co-ordinate projects and allocated resources and will provide robust advice on public policy and legislative development to further the Organisation's work on equality, maximising awareness, advocacy and adoption of the work and recommendations.

Candidate requirements

  • A third level qualification or equivalent professional qualification which has included training in the analysis of social policy, public policy or legislation and/or socio-economic research methods.
  • At least two years relevant experience, where the substantive duties have included the delivery of one or more of the following with regards to public policy or legislation:
  1. legislative or public policy development;
  2. delivering interventions to drive change; and/or
  3. socio-economic analysis / research.
  • Evidence of skills to develop and present key arguments to secure support from specific audiences.
  • Evidence of skills to plan, deliver and evaluate allocated projects.
