Staff Officer - Policy & Research
A respected public sector body is seeking an interim Staff Officer to support its policy and research functions. These roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in equality, law reform, and human rights.

The Role
You'll join a collaborative team working on high-impact projects, supporting senior leadership and contributing to policy development and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft policy submissions, briefing papers, and speaking notes
- Monitor legislative and policy developments across NI, Westminster, and EU
- Support stakeholder engagement and investigations
- Review and provide feedback on draft documents
- Assist in the development of publications and public-facing materials
Ideal Candidate
- Background in Law, Policy, Research, or related disciplines
- Interest in equality law, social policy, law reform, and human rights
- Understanding of NI, UK, or EU government and legal frameworks
- Familiarity with EU law, especially in areas like disability, race, employment, and childcare
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- A proactive team player with a curious mindset

- Location: Belfast (Office-based only)
- Salary: £34,524
- Hours: 37 per week | Monday-Friday | 9:00am-5:00pm
- Duration: Initial 3 months (possible extension)
