Policy and Research Officer

Job Description

Do you have a passion for research and policy development? VANRATH are assisting a large Public Sector organisation in their search for a Policy and Research Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and follow up on policy-related developments.
  • Collate and interpret relevant policy documents and reports.
  • Monitoring and analysing output from key influencers and drafting institutional responses.
  • Preparing briefing documents and collate evidence to inform strategic developments and support preparation of business cases.
  • Carry out consultations with stakeholders including senior representatives from public sector and industry.
  • Ensuring that the organisation has a key influence on legislation and public policy, through reliable, evidenced based research.

The Ideal Person

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience working within a research or policy environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of conducting high-quality research in a policy, educational, non-profit or corporate setting.
  • Evidence of undertaking research including statistical and critical analysis.
  • Proven ability in preparing fluent and high-quality reports and drafting.
  • High level of competence in organisational and project management skills including managing own workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills, including for the presentation of different types of data.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication (verbal and written) skills.

Remuneration

This is an excellent staff officer level role within a Public Sector organisation.
