VANRATH are recruiting a Plumbing and Heating Engineer to work on Social Housing maintenance projects for a large, leading Construction Company in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

£30,000 - £35,000 DOE + van / fuel card / package

Overview:
The Plumbing and Heating Engineer is responsible for carrying out high-quality installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair works to plumbing and heating systems in occupied and void properties. Ensure that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Gas Safe, water regulations, and company standards. The successful person will play a key part in maintaining resident satisfaction by delivering reliable, right-first-time repairs and installations while supporting the company's drive for safety, quality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair domestic plumbing and heating systems, including boilers, radiators, pipework, and associated controls
  • Carry out diagnostic work and fault finding on heating systems to identify and implement effective solutions
  • Ensure all work complies with current building regulations, Gas Safe, and company quality standards
  • Work safely and responsibly in occupied homes, ensuring minimal disruption to residents
  • Record and complete all job details accurately using digital job management systems
  • Support and mentor apprentices or less experienced engineers as required
  • Liaise with supervisors, planners, and residents to ensure clear communication and timely completion of works
  • Conduct risk assessments, adhere to safe systems of work, and report any hazards or near misses promptly
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good condition, reporting defects or loss immediately
  • Promote the company's values and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the service


The Ideal Person:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
  • ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CPA1 minimum)
  • Previous experience in domestic plumbing and heating installation, servicing and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of Gas Safe, HSE and Building Regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Full UK driving license
  • CSR Card
  • Ideally have experience working within the Social Housing sector
